“Tuff-N-Uff: The Future Stars of MMA honors founder Barry Meyer on June 25 with annual “Pack the Mack” free fight card
LAS VEGAS – “Tuff-N-Uff: The Future Stars of MMA” will once again look to “Pack the Mack, as mixed martial arts’ premier amateur organization takes over Las Vegas’ Thomas & Mack Center on Saturday, June 25, for a completely free night of high-paced action featuring a full roster of the brightest prospects in MMA.
The third annual event will honor the legacy of Tuff-N-Uff founder Barry Meyer, and the promotion hopes to break the incredible attendance record set at last year’s event, when 16,218 people caught glimpses of MMA’s next superstars.
Tickets for the June 25 card are free of charge and can be printed at UNLVTickets.com or picked up from any MMA gym or promotional partner in Las Vegas.
The latest edition of “Pack the Mack” features four championship matchups, and to add even more excitement to the night’s headlining bouts, the evening’s four title winners will be offered professional fight contracts by Japan’s legendary Pancrase organization, which held its first event in May 1993 – six months before UFC 1.
“Las Vegas is truly the Fight Capital of the World, and we love the opportunity to give back to the community that has always supported us so well, Tuff-N-Uff CEO Jeff Meyer said. “The annual ‘Pack the Mack’ events have become an incredible tradition, and we set a world record with our attendance last year. I want to see even more people fill the Thomas & Mack Center on June 25.”
The first Tuff-N-Uff fight is at 6 p.m. PT local time, and doors to the venue open 30 minutes earlier.
In the night’s main event, current Tuff-N-Uff lightweight champion Rocky Cantu (5-2) looks to defend his belt for a second time against gritty challenger Anthony “Ace” Martinez (5-1), who brings a five-fight winning streak to the cage. And in the co-feature, Kevin Crane (4-1) puts his title on the line for the first time against a more experienced Tony Murphy (8-8).
Meanwhile, Brieta “Tank Girl” Carpenter (7-2) and undefeated Serena Dejesus (4-0) compete for vacant Tuff-N-Uff women’s bantamweight belt, while undefeated flyweight champ Juancamilo Ronderos (7-0) puts his title on the line against Erik Van Der Lee (8-2).
