How did you get involved in Mixed Martial Arts?:

How are you preparing for this fight?: I have been preparing for this fight from all angles. I train with some amazingly talented people at Kings MMA gym in Huntington Beach, CA, led by the Master – Rafael Cordeiro.

What do you know about your opponent?: What I have been told about my opponent is that she has been fighting for only 1 year. I know she is 4-0 and trains out of Hidden Valley MMA in Utah. She looks strong.

Where do you see yourself being in 5 years?: In 5 years I see myself having accomplished what I never dreamed possible from myself – fighting against the top women in the world.

What is your favorite part about fighting?: My favorite part about fighting is the competitive aspect. Pushing myself to my limits and testing myself against other female athletes.

What is your goal in this sport?: My goal in this sport is to be part of the movement with all these other bad ass women! Proving that we are fighters. Strong & diverse human beings; mothers, daughters, sisters, wives, friends, co-workers, entrepreneurs.

Do you have any heroes or look up to anyone?: I look up to my mother who has always been such a strong, giving & selfless woman. She raised my brother & I on her own and did a great job. My hero’s? God – he has blessed me so much in my life. The greatest blessing he gave me was my other hero – he teenage daughter. Not only did she save me – she inspires me to be a better person everyday.

Who is your favorite fighter and why? ONE of my favorite fighters is Sarah Kaufman. She is such an amazing striker. She also is a great all around fighter – underrated in my opinion.

The sport is gaining popularity every day. Where do you see the sport being in 5 years from now?:
The sport has already surpassed my expectations in such a short time for women. I figured it would be another 5 years before we’d be in the UFC – but with Ronda Rousey’s help – WE ARE ALREADY THERE!!!

What do you do with your time other than MMA?: I’m a single mom, work 2 jobs and train. When I get time other than that, I try to get out to hike, fun outdoors stuff, go to dinner with friends.

What do you do for a living?:
Currently, I am a server. Fits good with my training schedule since it’s a little more flexible than a traditional office job.

What is 1 thing that we would be surprised to learn about you?
I love acting! Theatre, film – LOVE, LOVE, LOVE! Started acting training over 10 years ago. I have my BA in Radio-TV-Film.

How did you get involved in Mixed Martial Arts?: Started martial arts when I was five, didn’t cross training until about five years ago.

How are you preparing for this fight?:I train two to three times a day for three to four hours, five days a week sometimes a six. Sparring every day, working a lot on every aspect of my game, including mental preparation.

What do you know about your opponent?: He likes to stand up and throw wild power punches and kicks.

Where do you see yourself being in 5 years?:IDK I just live for the now.

What is your favorite part about fighting?:The high I get from knocking people out.

What is your goal in this sport?:To go Pro and just have fun with it, I’d like to be a champion but really all I care about is fighting and competing that’s number one.

Do you have any heroes or look up to anyone?:My Grandfather Ollie Mitchell he taught me a lot about being positive and controlling what go’s on in your head.

Who is your favorite fighter and why?Chuck Liddell, he’s like a big brother and he always was looking for a war. He feared no one

The sport is gaining popularity every day. Where do you see the sport being in 5 years from now?: I have no clue, I take it day by day and just try to push harder all the time.

What do you do with your time other than MMA?: Go to the beach, play with my puppy, read and meditate. Mostly I’m at the gym though

What do you do for a living?: I do whatever I can to make enough money so I can train as much as possible.. I do personal training and teach privates.. I instruct a Paragon BJJ of Santa Maria

What is 1 thing that we would be surprised to learn about you? My favorite color is pink.

“Tuff-N-Uff: The Future Stars of MMA” returns to Las Vegas’ South Point Arena on Sunday, May 26, for the latest installment of its now-legendary nights of entertainment filled with high-paced MMA action, live music, free beer sampling and some of Las Vegas’ finest BBQ for the promotion’s one-of-a-kind “Festibrawl.”

“Memorial Day weekend in Las Vegas has long been a special holiday for MMA fans, and we’re happy to once again be a part of the festivities by continuing our partnership with South Point Hotel, Casino & Spa to present the brightest prospects in MMA today,” Tuff-N-Uff president Barry Meyer said. “This Memorial Day weekend we’ll have three championship fights, the return of Montel Williams Jr., free beer samplings, great BBQ and a DJ spinning throughout the night. It’s going to be another incredible night of entertainment.”

The “Festibrawl” pre-party, which includes food, drinks and live music, starts at 5:30 p.m. The night’s first fight is at 7 p.m.

The “Tuff-N-Uff: Festibrawl” main event sees undefeated Tuff-N-Uff middleweight champion Dylan Jahrling (5-0) seek the first defense of his belt against former Tuff-N-Uff light heavyweight titleholder Khalil Rountree (3-1).

Wand Fight Team product Rountree recently relinquished his 205-pound title and elected to drop down a division in hopes of adding another belt to his trophy case. He now meets House of Ryu’s Jahrling in a fight that will determine one of Las Vegas’ brightest future stars and give the winner bragging rights over his cross-town rival.

In additional featured action, the vacant Tuff-N-Uff women’s bantamweight title will be on the line as Utah’s Jules “She Hulk” Winter (4-0) meets California’s Jessica Martinez (2-3-1).

Winter, who represents Utah’s Hidden Valley Mixed Martial Arts, makes her Tuff-N-Uff debut as the reigning SteelFist Fight Night champion. She’ll look to add the Tuff-N-Uff belt by downing Kings MMA product Martinez, who returns to the promotion for the first time since 2010.

And in the card’s third championship bout, nine-time Tuff-N-Uff veteran Shane “Biggs” Johnson (6-2-1) puts his six-fight unbeaten streak on the line in a 165-pound title defense against undefeated prospect A.J. Williams (2-0), a Syndicate MMA product who recently delivered a “Knockout of the Year” candidate with a high-kick stoppage of Sam Edwards.

In a special welterweight attraction, two-time Tuff-N-Uff veteran and Xtreme Couture fighter Montel Williams Jr. (1-1), the son of legendary talk-show host Montel Williams, meets debuting TapouT fighter Jason Weyrich (0-0).

In addition to the night’s headlining contests, a full lineup of aspiring amateur fighters from some of the world’s top academies – including 10th Planet Corona, House of Ryu, Kings MMA, Syndicate MMA, TapouT, UFC Gym, Wand Fight Team and Xtreme Couture – will compete at Tuff-N-Uff’s May 26 “Festibrawl.”
