Downtown Las Vegas Events Center will welcome the nation’s top fighters for a night of mixed martial arts in the Downtown Showdown with Tuff-N- Uff, the premier amateur MMA organization in the country. This will be the event’s second turn at the outdoor venue, which will take place on Friday, April 7, during the exciting First Friday Downtown celebration. The first fight is set to begin at 7 p.m.

Tickets for “The Future Stars of MMA” start at $9.26 (plus applicable fees) and are available at www.ticketmaster.com, www.dlvec.com and www.tuffnuff.com. The main event will be a 145-pound Title fight between Billy Brand (7-1) from MMA Gold in El Dorado Hills, CA and Ian King (8-3) fighting out of Gracie Barra Portland. Brand started training martial arts at the age of 12 and has become a well rounded fighter who consistently seeks out the best competition. He will find that in King, who has only gone the full fight distance one time in his 11 outings. King is a Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu blue belt that began wrestling in 2006 and training MMA in 2009. With King’s experience training under UFC veteran and BJJ world champion, Fabiano Scherner, the fight between these athletes is a must-see event.

The co-main event will see Xtreme Couture MMA’s Corey Conway (6-3) standoff at 135 pounds against Danny Gonzales (7-2) from The Guild in Rosemead, CA. Another exciting match-up to keep an eye on is locals and Tuff-N- Uff veterans, Julius Lopez (5-5) from 9th Isle BJJ versus Brandon Rios (3-2) from Fusion MMA. The rest of the evening will feature match-ups with athletes from gyms such as Torres MMA, LV Krav Maga, School of Hard Knocks, JacksonWink MMA, 10th Planet Las Vegas and Wand Fight Team.
