Nick Perez Fights for the Lightweight Title on August 5th at the Cox Pavilion

Nick Perez has been actively fighting for 2 years now and has a record of 3-2-1. He started when he was 16 years old as a means to keep himself out of trouble. Growing up, he was in and out of homeless shelters and juvenile homes with his brothers. One day he met former Tuff-N-Uff fighter, Jamin Tayaba, who introduced Perez to jiu jitsui and he was hooked. With the help of Tayaba and coach Brian Clements out of the School of Hard Knocks gym, Perez has found inspiration through fighting. Clements has been like a father figure to Perez and trained with him when no one else wanted to. He says that without that inspiration, he may have ended up in prison like his brothers. After a few more amateur fights, Perez plans to follow the path to a professional MMA career. Keep an eye on this Future Star of MMA!
